Atlanta Journal-Constitution follows Fired but Fighting

As reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC)

In a recent video published by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the growing Fired but Fighting movement—led by former CDC employees and their supporters—gathered at Senator Jon Ossoff’s town hall to demand accountability and advocate for public health protections. The coalition includes individuals who say they were unjustly terminated despite strong performance reviews, and they claim their firings were part of a political effort to silence public health professionals and dismantle CDC operations.

During the town hall, participants challenged Senator Ossoff’s lack of visible support, pointing out that he had yet to sign a letter backing their cause. They emphasized the urgency of restoring public trust in health institutions and demanded specifics on how Ossoff would use his position on the Appropriations Committee to support public health in the FY2026 budget. While Ossoff promised a meeting with his health policy team and vowed to hold leadership accountable, movement members stated clearly: the fight isn’t over.

The video captures weekly rallies, ongoing outreach to elected officials like Senator Raphael Warnock, and the coalition’s resolve to stay visible, vocal, and organized until reinstatements are secured and systemic failures addressed.
